I’m running as a pro-choice Democrat because I believe that women should have the right to make choices about their future and their family without political interference. I was the only candidate in the 2022 general election to have the endorsement of organizations like

• Planned Parenthood Votes RI,
• RI Democratic Women’s Caucus, and
• Emily’s List

They support me because they know I’ve always been a strong supporter of a woman’s right to choose.

2024 highlights:

• The Healthcare Provider Shield Act will protect medical providers who provide transgender and reproductive health care services in Rhode Island from civil or criminal suits from other states

2023 highlights:

• The Equality in Abortion Coverage Act (EACA) ensures that 1/3 of Rhode Islanders who are state employees or on Medicaid, who were previously denied health insurance coverage for abortion, will have coverage going forward just like everyone else.

Going forward, when it comes to healthcare and reproductive rights, we need to make sure that everyone has health insurance coverage AND access to providers. I can also personally attest that I’ve had to wait a long time for an OB/GYN appointment because we don’t have enough providers in our state, and I have to travel 45+ minutes for it. So I want to build on the Senate’s work in 2023-24 to bring more primary care and specialty providers to RI
