Building A Community That Works For Everyone

We have unique challenges in our coastal towns (Westerly, Charlestown, South Kingstown). First, we’re a coastal community in the time of climate change. I studied those risks as when I served as Chair of Charlestown’s Climate Resiliency Commission. As your state senator, I am working to fight climate change, protect our groundwater and other critical infrastructure, and prepare before the next Hurricane Sandy hits. Second, we are seeing fewer families here and more out-of-towners who only come during the summer. The cost of everything: housing, gas, food, childcare, and healthcare, is stretching many families’ budgets. Our community is special because it is tight-knit. I look forward to listening to everyone in the community and working hard to make sure that people with roots here can afford to stay here.
